Maga has the same weird notion about musk that they do about trump. They're rich, therefore they can't be bought, tempted, whatever. It's a lunatic notion that thinks wealth makes people pure or something. Utter nonsense. Maga also claims that if you tax the rich they won't be motivated to produce more because the financial incentive is gone even if it would take them a million or more lifetimes to actually consume their own wealth. So, yes, they are still motivated by money. But more to the point these are people who are motivated as well by the need for power, fame, and adulation. There's a story Maggie Hagerman reported trump told her once. He was at some club where a very rich couple couldn't get a table, so he stepped in to help them out. He pointed out that they were rich--BUT they were not famous. Oh yes, Trump can be bought. Clearly by Musk. But more so by his own cravings and desires. |
My guess is that whatever powers are behind previous administration are also behind this administration. They just change the shoes they are using to walk us into whatever direction they want at a time. |
Dems had shown themselves as a party that eats their own. Their fighting tactics are pissing off their own constituents and usually target them: ex. soft on crime affecting urban areas where Dems tend to live, supporting illegals with benefits so that they don't need to work while putting their own urban poor and homeless under a bus, and the latest gem - torching Teslas and threatening Tesla drivers who are majority Dems. This couldn't be any stupider. If I were an uber-billionaire I wouldn't be throwing my money into this dumpster fire. I'd be maybe starting a 3rd party if I really cared to help improve the lives of people and not just cementing my dominance. |
Well said. Democrats have a death wish for themselves, one would think. |
You can’t compare the two. This one doesn’t believe in democracy or America or the Constitution and has aligned with the axis of evil. As imperfect as democrats are, they were not trying to sabotage our country. |
Yeah, you sound exactly like MAGA. The democrats are controlled opposition, equally captured by the wealthy. We won't be able to fix the problem until more people see it. But dem voters are in their own kind of cult and refuse to acknowledge how utterly ineffective our party is, and how absolutely purposeful it is. |
No activist of either party should have access to taxpayer funds |
But this is what dems did exactly, they sabotaged our country. They paved the way. They created the level of division between common people like never before. |
This. The idea that I am paying to be terrorized is beyond irrational, it's horrible |
All these billionaires and not one of them decided to become Batman, a vigilante for justice. TAX THE RICH. |
AOC is now the rich. |
It so happens they don't like to be taxed. |
There literally is no Elon Musk equivalent. Hate on him as you will; he single handily brought EVs to masses and space exploration to commercial potential. Cuban can’t even touch Musk and the billionaire club knows it. Best play is to let him get bored of politics. Uh, no. He definitely did it with the help of all of us…the taxpayers He bought SolarCity after hundreds of billions of government shady contracts and still failed with solar panels. Do you have any idea how many subsidies the government hands out with no return on investment? Firebomb Tesla all you want - but he as much as you despise him he is arguably one of the most influential humans in 100-200 years. |
One problem is people like Bernie Sanders failing to distinguish between evil billionaires and billionaires with good hearts. We need the Soros and Oprah type billionaires. Chasing them away is foolish. Regulate them, tax them and hug them. |
They need to pay an effective tax rate of 39% the same as people making $500k. End of story. I don’t care whether they’re good or bad; they make their money off the infrastructure of this country and should be taxed accordingly. |
