Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS)
| The "Meet the Teacher" Open House should be sometime next week (it's Thursday, September 1, 12:45 - 1:45 pm at TJ for the 2nd - 4th graders). Maybe if you get there early you can meet some other parents and kids. I know the classroom assignment letters go out on Friday, August 26. |

Also, make sure to join: https://www.ourcommonplace.com/fallschurch#/fallschurch
It's an online community specific for the City of Falls Church (I think they are expanding as well, but each community is a specific local area). It just started a few months ago, but is extremely active, for people looking for plumber recs, babysitters, announcements for activities, and more. I'm surprised at how much traction it got so quickly - I think I even saw a post from someone looking for a rising K playdate... Good Luck! |
oh wait - i just looked, it was the poster here who also posted there, sorry

| My son just started at St. James this year. We are thrilled and he is very happy. Top notch school, parents, faculty, sports program etc. Many kids here go on to Bishop O'Connell HS, a very highly regarded HS. |
