Falls Church City Elementary Schools

The "Meet the Teacher" Open House should be sometime next week (it's Thursday, September 1, 12:45 - 1:45 pm at TJ for the 2nd - 4th graders). Maybe if you get there early you can meet some other parents and kids. I know the classroom assignment letters go out on Friday, August 26.

Also, make sure to join: https://www.ourcommonplace.com/fallschurch#/fallschurch

It's an online community specific for the City of Falls Church (I think they are expanding as well, but each community is a specific local area). It just started a few months ago, but is extremely active, for people looking for plumber recs, babysitters, announcements for activities, and more. I'm surprised at how much traction it got so quickly - I think I even saw a post from someone looking for a rising K playdate...

Good Luck!

My son just started at St. James this year. We are thrilled and he is very happy. Top notch school, parents, faculty, sports program etc. Many kids here go on to Bishop O'Connell HS, a very highly regarded HS.

Hi there,

I live in Falls Church and just wanted to pass on my information to those with children in FCCPS. See below! Thanks!

Private Tutoring
Individual and Small Group Instruction for Grades K-6

About me
I have been an elementary teacher in both public and private education in Fairfax and Arlington County for several years. I have a B.A. degree from Villanova University and a Master’s Degree in Education from Marymount University. I am a VA certified teacher and am trained in the most current education practices that make learning fun and relevant to elementary aged children. I believe that in order for children to grow intellectually, the instruction they receive must be carefully tailored to their interests and learning styles. My focus as a private tutor is to help achieve mastery of the concepts they are learning and to bridge connections from prior knowledge to new skills and concepts.
