Easily triggered.

BU and NU are better options in better locations with diversity.

I visited, and am curious just what the hell you guys saw on the Tufts campus that kept you from immediately going to your hotel and taking a long shower.

Not the PP but just toured with my DS and saw happy students, a lovely (not beautiful) campus with a low-key vibe, and a lot of emphasis on community, intellectual curiosity, and collaboration. All just a hop, skip, and a jump from the best city for students in the country. I’d be thrilled for my high stats kid to end up there.

We also visited Tufts and thought it was lovely. I literally don’t understand the hate about the campus. DS actually thought the location seemed cool. Yes there is a hill and if your child has a disability maybe that matters but otherwise … your kid can walk up a hill.

That poster probably just needed a shower after walking the hills - it helps to be in shape. It’s a nice enough campus, which is only one of many factors to consider. It’s a strong school with lots to offer.

Not much school spirit and BU and NEU have much better locations

They are regarded better locations unless you have very perculier taste.

Some kids want a real campus!

Tufts is the preferred location for us. It has a campus feel and it’s very easy to access the city. We live in a city and none of my kids want to be in a very urban environment for college (no Columbia, Penn, NYU, BU, etc.)
But I really don’t get why people here even offer campus aesthetics as a meaningful critique of a school someone else’s kid likes. I guess it looks good enough for them.

My son likes his tour so much he is thinking of applying ED 1 or Ed 2. Last week he spent an hour on the phone with an alum of his high school who is finishing up her first year at Tufts. She confirmed every thing he liked about it: collaborative nature and more LAC type professor attention with a somewhat larger school size. She also plays on a championship team at Tufts and while it isn’t a rah-rah football school (and definitely not the right fit if that is important to you) she loves being an athlete there.
