The only reason I can think of is if they're appealing the denial of the waiver and haven't heard back yet. |
| Well, I'm sure everyone knows that the best instruction at MCPS occurs whenever school is extended half-days beyond the end of the school year - especially when it's non-graded. Yup. Uh huh. |
| Newest rumor is they are extending 2 additional 1/2 days...So Friday, Monday, and Tuesday all would be half days. Heard this from a principal. |
It doesn’t matter how many days they extend it. We’re not going after Friday. |
What would that accomplish? |
Good for you. School staff still will have to work those days. And definitely would’ve preferred makeup days during the year. |
Let’s just count the last full day as 2 half days and be done with it.
|
Friday is currently a full day. Separately, I don’t understand why anyone cares about extending an additional day at this point. Monday or Tuesday, whatever. Friday to Monday I get, but that ship has sailed. |
Didn't they already announce that Friday was a full day? |
Yes |
| I paid for a 2 week camp that starts the 16th. It’s local. I wonder if all the kids at camp will just skip the last days of school. |
I imagine any kid enrolled in any camp that week will be skipping the end of school. |
| Our school is sticking with Monday, June 16 half day as the last day. It's almost like the February 12 makeup day just disappeared! |
If your school is MCPS, which hadn't officially announced the results of the waiver request, then your school will have to revise their last day if the waiver is denied and the year gets extended by another day. |
