I've read the actual Deferred Resignation Agreement

thoroughly it looks like an excellent deal.

Honestly, I would take it for my private sector job. It even says you are allowed to work during the period!

This analysis is a bit stale: the initial offer was solely from OPM, but will now be backed by a (slightly more binding?) agreement with your agency, who does have more authority to offer such things. I'd love to see an addendum to this that analyzes the purported agreement we'll sign with our agencies.
