In his first term, Trump made a lot of noise but in the end did nothing except pass a tax cut for the rich and blow up deficits, which is what Republicans always do. Every day is drama with Trump, but when it comes to legislation, there's not much there. And given the make-up of the House, Republicans can't pass anything substantial without Democratic votes. It'll be a noisy four years, but I don't expect much, particularly after Democrats take the House back in two years.

I have had this overwhelming feeling of: We have to go through it to get through it.

The maga movement has only been gaining more traction. Their ability to deflect and make excuses is astonishing. I think maybe we need this period of letting the GOP control it all. Starting tomorrow, there is nobody to blame, nobody to deflect to. We are going to hit rock bottom, and I think that’s the only hope we have that enough people will face the reality of where the GOP priorities truly lie.

This. Trump did not achieve anything other than tax cuts and blew up our deficit. Tax cuts that my family personally is benefiting from but millions aren’t. He isn’t going to achieve anything in the next 4 years. He’s just going to sit in the Oval office and get his ego stroked by his yes men.

So... how about we focus on finding a real presidential nominee that will squash anything MAGA has to offer and we'll together put the disastrous Trump/Biden years behind us? Do you want to be part of the solution or part of the whiny partisan crowd?

The last four years were objectively terrible with the massive inflation and open border. Trump returning to office gives many of us hope that the country can again be set on the right track.
