Do they accept credits for English classes kid took during high school (AP, IB, DE)? |
|
How much aid do they give typically (the range?) if they do? |
IR as an undergrad or their graduate IR programs? |
Our DC applied for IR/poli sci. They got merit (not need) based aid of $35K per year. Tuition is $60K so that would bring it down to $25K a year tuition, which is very competitive. |
|
Our DC, who goes to a W school in MCPS, will probably apply to American as a safety school. We've heard good things but for the just OK academic reputation it would be a pretty expensive option.
Still, decent school, lovely area, you could do worse. |
Wasn't it posted that tuition is near 85k? |
$83,380. All in |
No that is the COA, full cost including room & board & books. The tuition is $60-61K. |
|
My dd also got 35k merit scholarship.
Not at the top of her list, but liked it enough on the tour. |
Don't colleges typically post the all-in amount for following year in the prior Spring? So for those applying during 2026-2027 cycle, the sum $ will be revealed Spring 2026? |
+1 I was expecting to hate it because we are local. My DD and I were pleasantly surprised at our tour and info session. The campus is nice and the kids are, too. If you aren’t from this area, the location is great. With a new President, AU will definitely be on the rise. |
| Any other feedback on AU? |
| Also got the 35k merit scholarship. Likely going to attend. |
|
For students who were awarded $35k merit, what test score (if any) was submitted?
Thanks (parent of an interested HS junior) |
