Democratic leadership and the DNC need to stay out of the way so that normal/legitimate POTUS candidates can come to the forefront in an organic manner. "Policies" are never a problem when the party leader is a legitimate leader like an Obama or Clinton.

I talked with Doctors who want him to implement “kind of a plan” for health care.
Environmentalist who want Elon to succeed with wiping out regulations so voters can learn a lesson.

I am the person you are responding to. I don't support Trump's policies, but lets face it, they will be a shitshow and it is what the American public narrowly voted for. What they didn't vote for are cuts to medicaid and social security, nor did they vote for replacing the dollar with crypto or an oligarch class within the government, but that is what we are going to get, and I pray that in 2026, there are meaningful elections to provide a real check and balance to the 2028 elections. Otherwise our country is toast.

I'm a moderate Democrat and support a lot of his policies - better border control and harder on crime (including petty theft). I also want him to leave alone Obamacare, benefits like SS/Medicare and other social programs, and increase taxes to balance the budget. I'm also not White and continue to be wary of his racist rhetoric.
Now that he's won with broad support, he has a once in a lifetime opportunity - pivot towards the middle, do what's necessary for the real majority in the country, and become of the greatest presidents. This would also help ensure Republican victory for a very long time. Not very hopeful however.. Trump already had this opportunity during Covid and BLM to show leadership in that direction and miserably failed.

He barely won, less than a percent and below a 50% majority of voters. There is no "broad" support.

This would work except Democrats are the party of government. They have too much to lose.
They can't stomach having less government workers or a cut in pay.

Schedule F will force a reduction in the number of government workers regardless of anything democrats do.

All true Americans want their POTUS to succeed. The problem is; when you elect elderly people like Trump and Biden to perform this very demanding job, the odds of success aren't good. 2nd graders can figure this out but not eligible American voters.

Age isn't the factor here.

Biden has run a great administration. The economy is the best in the world, we have seen a couple of bad regimes fall with a couple of others teetering.

The issue is competence. Trump has already proven through his businesses and university and previous presidential administration, that he doesn't have any. the next 4 years are going to be brutal.

Most people want better healthcare.
Most people want more jobs and better wages.
Most people want clean air and water.
Most people want sensible gun control.
Most people want a secure border.
Most people want Roe.

These are all things democrats support and GOP opposes (as evidenced, for example, by killing the bipartisan border bill this past spring)

There would be overwhelming bipartisan support for a heavy crackdown on violent crime - including the thugs that are shoplifting every CVS and Walgreens. Only the progressives are cheering for the carjackers and thieves, and that's one of the reasons Democrats lost. And included in that, there would be great enthusiasm for expelling the 400,000 illegal migrants that have committed crimes in this country.

But health care is the quiet third rail in politics. As the murder of the United Healthcare CEO demonstrated, there is a broad nationwide, bipartisan loathing of the private insurance companies in this country. Optimistically, I like to think that event might behoove Republicans to develop a plan that actually helps working and middle class Americans. Health care in the US hasn't been discussed by Democrats in a decade. They foolishly abandoned the issue. There's a lot of space for Trump to be the hero, and hopefully he seizes on that and makes non-employment based healthcare accessible for working and middle class Americans. Can you imagine how many businesses would be launched if people didn't have to worry about losing mediocre health insurance? The economy would be a rocket ship if we could detach health insurance from corporate employment.

Progressives are not cheering for carjackings and thieves. What world are you living in that you believe this?

Progressives merely suggest that the penalties for certain crimes, like marijuana possession, are excessive.
