JFK evidence was declassified in 2014. Most notably, here’s a CIA internal analysis: https://nsarchive2.gwu.edu/NSAEBB/NSAEBB493/docs/intell_ebb_026.PDF

What this essentially says is that JFK’s assassination was a KGB operation that Khrushchev did not have awareness of. The USG did not acknowledge it because doing so would have essentially forced the US into declaring war on the Soviet Union.
