What age group? McLean can draw in from Falls Church (right to Vienna). That's not an exemption.

They should update the rules to require girls that feed into the relevant Fairfax county high school. Otherwise, what is the point from a development standpoint? Madison, Langley, McLean etc. should have a 5-8th grade county team. This would help further develop the girls and ensure that the girls who will play together in HS have experience playing together. My DD’s team all feed into different high schools. The system is broken and doesn’t lend itself to the purpose of the league.

I agree this should be the setup for boys and girls, and with no zip code exceptions. No more AAU super teams. They could even do teams based on middle schools.

Don’t disagree. Not sure why zip codes are used instead of schools. I like your idea of forming teams of students that attend (or will attend) the same middle school. Much better system. No exceptions needed.

Are you talking about AAU teams? The thread is about FCPS basketball but I don’t think you’re talking about HS teams any longer.

We’re talking about county FCYBL teams.
