Do you dislike your first name, or do you regret the name you chose for your child?

Another Karen here who's never liked her name, and who likes it even less now that it's a synonym for an entitled (or even racist) white woman.

It's funny, though, because almost every Karen I know is the opposite of that stereotype.

Watch her grow up and hate how "frilly" her name is and give her daughter a tougher name.

Totally possible! Although I don’t think her name is “frilly” per se. It’s a traditional girl name that I think is pretty (think along the lines of Ella).

I love my kids names more than any other names I've ever heard. Luckily DH and I always agreed exactly on the names and they were decided early on. My kids also get compliments on their names all the time- they are unique but not weird or trendy.

I don't like my first name, but many people do. It's simple and is relatively common all over the world.

I hated having the same name as so many other people and even now at work I get misdirected emails for others with the same first name pretty often.

Thank you for forwarding my emails. Here is a batch of yours for you.

I had Karen on my list of girl names 13 years ago. I still love the name but wow, I kinda dodged a bullet.

What's funny is I think Jess and Jessica and Jessie are all great names. I met a 7 yr old Jessie recently and was so delighted. I have GREAT associations with the name.

Now Rachel was a real mixed bag and the Stephanies were more bad than good unfortunately.

I definitely think today’s Jaxons and Everleighs will regret their names. If they don’t already.

I will say that even though I hate having the same name as so many of my peers, it is a nice name. And in general people don’t seem to have many negative connotations with it.
