So you think there is a difference between the right wing and the GOP? |
He would absolutely going to sign any anti-abortion bill that came across his desk - his words. Don't play coy. |
The GOP has loved this winky noddy, “I’m so clever and cool” neckbeard stance lately. On Project 2025, abortion, birth control bans, border policies… they think it’s 2016 and no one knows anything about the modern GOP. I looked up what Youngkin did to “protect kids from making a lifelong mistake.” Half of the programs he canceled were for stuff like suicide prevention. In other words: not protecting kids. |
I’ll bet a little more context here wouldn’t straighten things out. |
Lately? No, they've always been lying sheetbags. |
This is true. |
Here’s what actions Youngkin has taken regarding transgender students. You are obviously crazy if you think any of these harms any student. https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/ideological-beliefs-youngkin-administration-shares-2023-model-policies-for-schools-treatment-of-transgender-students/3387085/ https://apnews.com/article/virginia-transgender-students-schools-youngkin-ba073a1e8a9286456a7509688f40115b |
Only if your perspective is unable to distinguish between a national security threat and a largely nonexistent personal threat. |

So much Sinophobia and racism in this thread. You are all so paranoid about the boogeyman you make China out to be. Our economies are completely intertwined. We borrow trillions from them.
Anyone in IC will tell you that China is our biggest issue. They constantly steal and cheat from companies and IP. Theres little to no reciprocity in agreements with them. In my own work with students/doctors/professors from China they forge documents and lie/cheat to get access to materials.
My spouse in IC thinks Russia from without and white nationalists/right wing terrorism are far bigger threats. Maybe if Republicans dislike China as much as they say they do they shouldn’t have sent so much of our manufacturing there. And maybe Trump shouldn’t have closed Obama’s early detection office for nascent epidemics. Just a thought. Because Republicans seem to act recklessly.
If your spouse honestly thinks that white nationalists are our biggest threat then I would bet he/she works for NPR or The New Yorker rather than in the IC.
Spot on.
It depends on your perspective. As a black woman, white nationalists are my daily threat.
Only if your perspective is unable to distinguish between a national security threat and a largely nonexistent personal threat.
Exactly. |
Anyone remember when school children couldn’t get an aspirin from the school nurse without parental permission? I do, and I’m not that old. So what happened?? |
It was a stupid decision because the plant got built in Michigan. It’s not Youngkin’s job to decide what plants are a national security threat— it’s Youngkin’s job to attract businesses to depressed parts of the state.
Youngkin sacrificed thousands of good jobs and the families that would rely on those jobs because he didn’t want there to be a political ad in his future saying he supported a Chinese battery factory. |
Anyone who is unnecessarily supporting Communist Chinese is hammering yet more nails into their own coffin.
Why? |
Typed from your Chinese-made computer. |
Yup. Bring on the American (or European, or even S American made phones! I’ll take almost anything over Communist Chinese. |
Oh, BS. What a moronic spin. Ever since Youngkin declined the Chinese battery factory in VA, more and more governors are following his lead. Those who don't - Whitmer, for instance - are meeting with a ton of pushback from Americans who *DO NOT* want the Chinese buying our land and doing business in our country. Youngkin was absolutely right, and brave to be the first to say no to China. |
