PP has no clue what "fascist" means. PP only knows that it is an insult. |
DP. Well, he has been vetoing a huge number of bills, more and more as time goes on. |
And, vetoing bills makes him a "fascist" how, exactly? |
Yes, because they are bad bills put forward by narrow majorities in the VA legislature.. |
This. PP, please go ask your history teacher to define “fascist” for you. |
Would I call him a fascist, probably not. But he has decided that he is the one man who is in charge of the Virginia government, which is nonsense. He was also fired from Carlyle for being bad at his job. |
The same thing would have happened here. The plant would never have gotten past the endless environmental studies. |

Does he not have the authority to veto bills? |
It's these delusions of grandeur that have this country sinking rapidly. The US is 4% of the world's population and markets, produces nothing and imports everything, including brains. Its geriatric political class and ruthless power class have destroyed all industry, chocked social mobility and amassed unserviceable amounts of debt. Currently they are in the process of devaluing the US brand. A war with China is a continuation of failed policies. |
Ok, now do China. |
The sky hasn't fallen for several reasons. One is that he learned pretty fast not to embrace the extreme right (remember the "squeal on a teacher" website?). Loudoun County has had some reckoning with its own politics now as well. The other is that he does not have a Republican legislative branch. And lastly, Virginia is a place that has always stood back and watched before leaping into things. It's part of the culture here. Democrats here are the same way. |

It doesn't matter whether the governor is an R or a D in Virginia. They all tend to be pretty responsive to the population here. Note the changes on data centers. PW County just slapped a heavier tax on them. Loudoun will no doubt do the same. It has nothing to do with whether someone is an R or a D. Nobody wants more of them. |
“… exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.” Sorry. If he’s a forced birther, supports banning books, supports Trump’s lies about the 2020 election having been stolen, condones discrimination against LGBTQ people… that fits the definition. Sorry that not everyone wants to play along and pretend he’s jolly good fun. |
