Solar Eclipse

If FCPS wanted to buy 180k pairs of solar glasses it wouldn't be that expensive (they're dirt cheap in bulk) but they would have to have planned ahead, which they seem to be incapable of doing.

And I will bet my paycheck that if FCPS went and spent over $200K on glasses, whiners like you would be up in arms about wasting tax payer dollars on something that wasn’t guaranteed (glasses wouldn’t be necessary if it turned out to rain or be overcast on April 8). You’re the one that seem incapable here. 😒

Funny because our school had made those for the older kids and I think FCPS is not saying they aren’t really allowed….

They close for rain and can’t bother to do an early release on eclipse day?? Pathetic.

Anyone get anything from sports coaches about it?

They don't close for rain.

Yea they did just this school year in anticipation of a big rain event on a Saturday that never happened.

Do you know what the offices would be like with dozens of parents signing out early. That in itself is a safety concern. And stop with your pearl clutching that's getting old too-"I can't believe....

This is my question I have two student athletes who will be outside at this time and no communication from the high school-I think this is not the coaches call but the admin.

The anticipated weather was ice. At the last minute, the temperatures warmed up.

Let it go. You seriously have a problem.

A bunch of people agree with me.

Early dismissal makes the most sense and will keep the kids safe.

Go do your homework, sweetie. It’s a full day of school tomorrow.

But learning wasn’t affected, just some local basketball leagues…I guess that’s the same.

And it was a Saturday. Not a school day. Good Lord.
