Disagree. We would pay $90k for Vanderbilt, but it is impossible to get in. Pretty much all the parents I know would pay for Vanderbilt. We are all full pay and HHI. |
It’s near impossible to get in from RD. The first round of early decision is pretty much necessary for a chance, second round for a smaller chance. |
My DC goes to Vanderbilt. He's had good internships. They place well in consulting. But it's true they don't have a huge footprint in IB in NYC. Most placements are at regional offices - Denver, Dallas, Atlanta. Nashville has been booming in recent years. So there are a lot of opportunities there. Also, Vanderbilt has a lot going on - from neuroscience to music. It's not a school that's singularly focused on creating a pipeline to Wall Street. |
Glad you posted. We are holding on to the faintest of hopes for RD. |
Did your kid get in ED? Which round? |
I like my left arm, and I wouldn't have my kid go there unless it were somehow way cheaper. Vanderbilt is in Tennessee--and its employment outcomes aren't that great. If my kid can't get into a pricey Ivy, I would rather have them at UVA. |
Trump is the key word there. Plus country music sucks. |
ED. From this area. Public. It was a good fit for him. No complaints. |
Mine got in RD last year. Won the lottery.
Very very happy with all aspects of the school. Odds were so rough though in RD that DC was prepared to get excited by the acceptances had to date. DCs friends had a lot of nice acceptances as well in RD, I hope the same for you |
Nashville is a moderate city in a conservative state
Campus is diverse with all sorts of people and ideas There is so much to do - lots within walking distance of the campus, lots by Uber. Hillsboro Village is right there, great eats everywhere Music scene is really fun. On and off campus. Kids go to Belmont parties too. A booming city with tons of opportunities. |
Are you the poster from 1950 again? Nashville has the highest jobs growth in the US last year. Fortune 100, not supermarket clerks. |
Dartmouth has always ranked higher than Cornell until USNWR changed their rankings for social mobility and other meaningless factors. |
Vanderbilt, WashU, UChicago, NEU, VT are trash.
/s/ Crazy Karens of DCUM |
lol.
add Dartmouth I guess. |
Hahaha. Them grapes are sour, huh? |
