If he'll stay there that would solve a lot of problems.

His wife was able to get him transferred to Germany and this is sort of where the documentary starts. He has 2 children. I couldn’t understand why he insisted on going back to Russia when he could have stayed in Germany. He gets on a plane, with press and his wife and as soon as they land in Russia he’s arrested and he was in custody ever since.

I don’t agree at all with Putin or Russian politics. But when you have children, to me it was crazy that he left them again. You just knew he would die. And now he has. It’s very sad. probably won’t change anything re how the world deals with Putin.

In Russia, having a job that opposes Putin's views carries a risk equivalent to what it would be here in the US — in the army, police, or fire department. Navalny chose the path of an (honest) politician in Russia. He didn't want to become one in safe exile and tell his people how to fight Putin. Instead, he returned to his people, believing in them. To understand more about the consequences of opposing Putin, look up names like Politkovskaya or Nemtsov. Currently, there are two opposition politicians in Russian prisons — Ilya Yashin and Vladimir Kara-Murza, also true heroes.

He will go down as Russia’s Mandela or Germany’s Scholl. He is now with the legends like King and Ghandi.

Putin is a murderous scumbag.

Navalny is a hero and will live on as a martyr symbolizing a free and fair Russia.

In other words nothing will happen.

Yep. Big words that mean absolutely nothing.

Speaking as someone who can’t stand that racist Tucker Carlson, Media Matters’ summary of that video is WILDLY dishonest and misleading.

Well, Media Matters is a wildly dishonest and misleading site. No surprise there.

Is there a place to honor Navalny in DC?
Anonymous
One way to honor Navalny is to rewatch and share his last major YouTube video explaining the corruption of Putin. It is so well done. The end, where he calls on Russian people to stop being patient with their terrible leaders, is heartbreaking. Wishing the best to his wife and children. And wishing his country deserved him.

I totally agree. He could have done more good by continuing to post anti-Putin messages from abroad. It made zero sense to go back to Russia. It was 100% predictable he was going to die. And changes nothing now.

Navalny was only 47 and Putin is 71. He just needed to wait Putin out.

It would have made more sense for him to live and wait Putin out. He could have done much more, and now Putin has “won.”

Putin’s men will murder wives and children overseas. Navalny likely went back to spare his family a brutal death. He received a very clear message that his family was next.

Germany is not safe, elites are compromised by Russia.

Blaming Putin just because the guys was in jail seems like a bit much. Where are the real reporters who are unbiased?

Russian trolls posting here again????????

Geeze, hon, Putin is a MURDERER. He's killed most of his political foes. They've had "heart attacks" and "fallen" from windows, oh, and a few got poisoned, but in the end, they're all DEAD, due to Putin.

Go post your lyin' trash elsewhere. We read and know the truth about your paymaster, and he is EVIL personified, as you are too for working for him.

PUTIN MURDERED NAVALNY. Period. That's the truth.

Did you miss the part where Putin already tried to kill him once? And then put him in jail. Then moved him around and Navalny was “lost” briefly.

And you’re also missing the context of thousands of people having been murdered by Putin (though maybe you’d understand it better if I said “Putin’s regime.” He’s not the one putting the radioactive powder in the underpants, but he’s ordering it). They “fall” out of windows at a distressing rate, have “heart attacks” and commit suicide with a shot to the back of their head.

Yes, Putin murdered Navalny.
