ECNL forcing Brave & Union Partnership

Just confirmed all of this news with my daughter. By now most Brave families are aware of this information. People are going to be confused and upset by this alliance for many reasons but some of us are pretty excited.

This is what a few people have said about 3 of the age groups there so far.

2010 - NVA and Union will be getting most of the Brave girls from this age group with the best 7 or so moving over to Union. The remaining players will fight for roster spots over at NVA.

2009 - The top 3 2009 players will also be moving over to Union. Once they start practicing with Union it shouldn’t be too long before offer letters are sent out.

2008 - The biggest player movement should happen here. Nearly all of the families are unhappy and openly speak about change. If the top 11 girls move to the Union 08s as expected this should be more than enough to challenge for a top spot in the Mid Atlantic next year.

3 other players on this team have ties to VDA as well.

Please remember that when all this happens you can comeback here and reference this post. In the meantime reach out to Brave leadership and inquire whether this rumor is true or not.

You have issues! What a breakdown and waste of time. M

This is a done deal. Staff spots being sorted now. Move was forced by ECNL - not by the two clubs. ECNL wants consolidation in Mid Atlantic and two worst performing options were these two. Potomac will more than likely see same in MD next year. Now you roll up to one of four big clubs in NOVA: NVA, VDA, ASA, FVA (Fairfax Virginia Union). NVA (Loudoun) was offered MLS but only for younger age groups and they are teetering on that decision. If they go that way, expect NVU or Valor to slide in and take that ECNL spot possibly with a mash up of other smaller clubs to roll more up. Last remaining shake out is where GFR falls this next season. Right now they can stay R-ECNL but they need to feed into an ECNL program.

Would Loudon be forced to lose ECNL on the girls side?

This wouldn't be a bad thing IMO.

A Mclean/Great Falls partnership seems reasonable and with GFR recently absorbing DMV it would be three fairly solid programs under one umbrella.
Mclean is probably not the right partner for Brave but there are other clubs looking for ECNL that could help strengthen the boys' side which really seems to be the major issue for Brave.

For teams to be in ecnl-rl, do they have to have affiliation with ecnl club?
Players can just go where they want.

Thank you ECNL coach!

Can confirm many false "truths" in this post.

Say what you want. Doesn’t bother me as the OP. Feel free to point out the “false truths” in my post. You conveniently don’t state what those are. I have a view from the inside looking out. We can then do a scorecard of where I am wrong after all the chips fall on the table in the next 2 weeks

1. NVU and Valor would never be offered an ECNL spot
2. NVA was offered full slate for MLS Next but will not be joining, Revolution was considered for MLS Next youngers

Are you claiming this for just boys side? Boys and girls?

Union and Brave are not necessarily underperforming on girls side, both are terrible on boys side. Both due to lack of talent and coaching. Kevin James being allowed to coach teams is actually comical.

Smells like an SYC or FCV coach.

It makes sense for Mclean and Vienna to combine. It does not make sense for Mclean and Springfield or Vienna and Braddock Road to combine.

Hi, OP! If you have an inside view, why are you spilling the tea all over DCUM. Doesn't seem to be helping whatever organization/club that you are part of. If you would like to introduce your role/club that gives you an inside view it might lend some veracity to your claims.

I am not part of any club. I am not spilling anything. Someone else started this thread. I am just confirming that what was stated is true, this deal is done, it’s out in the open at Brave already, and it was pushed by ECNL for club consolidation and competitive improvement. Take them a truths or false truths.
