Neighbors new fence has a gate to my yard

Oh! We did exactly this. We back up to some neighbors who live on a parallel street and that street only has one exit to the main road on the other side from where we live (so imagine a U and the neighbor and I back up to each other on the lower part). Neighbors from their side cut through their yard and ours to get to the school rather than going all the way down their street and around.

We put up a fence and put in a gate where the neighbors pass through. We did it because we didn’t went it to be taken as a passive aggressive sign that we didn’t want people to cut through - we just wanted a fence so the deer don’t destroy our tomatoes.

So in my case anyway, I did it to be nice and because I thought my neighbor would like it. If they wanted to ask, I would be more than happy to explain. It didn’t occur to me that that would be weird - weirder if just one day a fence with NO gate went up I think!
