Duke experiences large drop in RD applicants

This answer makes sense if kids had to choose one. But we're talking regular decision-- the question is why students who apply to Yale aren't also applying to Duke?

The only answer on this thread that makes sense to me is just the shift from RD to ED.

Sorry…for many of us it’s just a medical procedure. It would be weird to attend any college where you had to fly home or go to another state for any non-emergency medical procedure…though maybe not the ultimate reason to decline.

In a state with affordable housing shortages and no paid family leave, forced birth is not an acceptable policy and she would prefer not to turn a blind eye when there are other places she can spend four years. I have no idea if this is affecting applications at Duke, she is just one example.
