pp with zero nannies wanting to be on the books, something tells me your pool of nannies were not eligible to legally work here. Most nannies do want to work on books since they are aware that it means social security and medicare in old age. |
There is a range but if you like your nanny and want her to stay, pay her top of the range. Even if you offered less when she was hired, raise it to the highest rate for your area, if you think she is a gem and want to keep her. |
We live in Dallas- pay $650 a week - have nanny Tuesday - Friday 7-4.
2 kids- both in school- more like 1 kid as the oldest is 16- youngest 8… basically keep her year round for summers when kids home. She does house chores, grocery shop- runs them around. |
In CCMD we pay 82k/52 -40 hours/weekly, all benefits including 15 days PTO, unlimited sickness, $420 healthcare stipend. We have demanding jobs and our nanny is top notch, we also hired through an agency which was costly but well worth it. |
In Howard County, $25/hr for one kid, 35 hrs/week guaranteed, over the table. Nanny is AMAZING, and our kid has a developmental disability that manifests in challenging behavior. |
My nanny was legal to work but didn’t want to be paid on the books as she didn’t want to retire here. |
You’re lucky. SN nannies are commanding much more, especially those with experience |
Where are you? Legally you .just pay minimum wage and it's,closer to $15. |
Live in is for employer's benefit and illegal to deduct for rent and utilities. |
You are bring very foolish because this can come back to bite you. |
I have yet to hear a story of it coming back to bite someone except those running for office. |
Same for us in Bethesda. Nanny has been with us 5 years. $2k annual in bonuses.
|
Nope, the paras at school work harder and are paid less.
|
2024 rate is $30+ |
This is nuts that y'all are paying for a nanny during hours that she isn't working while the kids are at school. What a racket being a nanny is! |
