How long do we need to focus so hard on 9-11? Pearl Harbor Day gets light mentions in December. Eventually you have to move on and let it be history.

NPR has really gone off the deep end. They dumb down the news, I can’t imagine who they think they are talking to.

Example 1: in a story about interest rates, they felt the need to explain that a bank is “a place where you stash money” and interest is “paying you keep your money stashed.” No actual information about the Fed and interest rates. I’m sorry, do they think their listeners are in kindergarten?

Example 2: a story that at first seemed to be an actual update about the war in Ukraine devolved into some feel-good story about a schoolteacher in Ukraine helping her student process trauma through song.

I now only listen to WTOP or Bloomberg.

I stopped donating to NPR 20 years ago. They are indeed insufferable and more biased than Fox.

Nothing should have been more important at the top of the news hour than the remembrance of Sept. 11.

Honestly this was a decent reminder to me to listen in the car today. I heard some basic news coverage of Biden's trip to Asia and the earthquake in Morocco, an interesting story from a reporter who went to Nicaragua discussing political oppression there, and a thing about ear health. The last one was kind of light, but interesting enough. Nothing like what you hear is going on in these NPR hate threads we have a couple times a year.

I agree that NPR has changed and it doesn't draw me as much as it used to as far as all day listening. But I still appreciate its presence.

That Nicaragua story was really good. They don't get enough credit for their reporters traveling to difficult areas - Mary Louise Kelly went to Iran and Ukraine.

She's even wrong. you also need an ovum with two x chromosomes and a sperm cell with XY chromosomes. she should have said "you have to be of the female biological sex" ...
