Might be true if just driving one or two people to the store, but most huge SUVs are hauling a lot of folks or animals or both. Otherwise would need multiple vehicles.

That’s such a stupid myth. 99% of the idiots driving these massively stupid cars go to the grocery store and target between their soccer practices and going to their office jobs. The car industry sells propaganda to idiot Americans to convince them they need these ridiculously stupid vehicles because the profit margins are better. That’s because they’re exempt from regulations and additional safety testing since they’re classified as ‘light trucks’. A portion of these are sold to idiots in the burbs who drive them all around cities and take up way more space than is needed. A minivan or a station wagon is way, way more practical if you need to haul stuff or a family anyway.

..and you don't think a minivan is not as large? Go and check one out and report back the size, weight, and MPG. You sound like a miserable, unhappy, spiteful soul. BTW, I don't own an SUV, minivan either. I believe life is about choices and people can spend as they wish....

Jesus you're stupid. The specs on a minivan are way different than a dumb SUV. For starters, look up the ground clearance and bumper height. Minivans are way more practical for hauling a stuff + a family and are safer. You can actually see the damn road a pedestrians walking in front of you while driving a minivan. Meanwhile, stupidly sized SUVs are classified as light trucks (why the auto industry loves them because they can skirt safety regs), thefore often have way higher bumper heights that make them stupid for driving with terrible visibility.

No you’re stupid. You can’t haul shit in a minivan. Look at their max payload and at their towing. Now gtfo. Minivans suck.

LMAO. As if you truck and SUV idiots max out your towing capacity. Take a look around the DMV you infantile pillock, the most hauling/towing capacity people around here are doing is moving their kids bikes, the latest haul from Target, and some groceries from Costco. You idiots think you need these ridiculously stupid sized vehicles when the most sport and outdoor activities you are doing is hauling your obese arses to Denny's.

You seem delightful. And ignorant.

+1, all the big families I know just get mini vans. Loading little kids into a suburban or similar is actually a pain. I also know people who often have to drive large groups (i.e. church groups) and they get regular vans (not mini) -- they would never get SUVs, which are hard for older people with mobility issues to climb in and out of. Station wagons are great for smaller families and lots of service people -- a friend of mine runs an in-home care company and they have a bunch of Subaru Imprezas for their staff that are perfect for transporting gear for home visits. Contractors, construction workers, others who have to tow a lot of tools and gear are better off with an actual truck.

SUVs, but especially the big ones like the Wagoneer, exist for a customer who simply wants to occupy more space. They want a mobile living room, complete with TVs, and to sit above everyone else on the road and to feel impervious. It has nothing to do with practicality or needing a large vehicle to transport people. It's all selfish desires.

Yeah, but minivans suck.

Agree.

Only if you are shallow and only care about image. If you have 3+ kids and don't have a minivan, I know you care more about image than anything else.

Truth, but I only have 2 kids so I get an x7.

All of you folk need to move to Norway. You will just love it.

Yeah, that’s the solution, I’m sure that’s just how it works too. Pick up and move to Norway, easy peasy.

I DO IT IN A SECOND IF IT WAS.

They’re not wrong. Do you honestly expect people to believe that everyone driving an enormous truck here REALLY REALLY needs for its towing capacity?

I would guess this sort of vehicle appeals to Secret Service types who liked the power they felt being in those motorcades and wanted to replicate it in their private life.

It’s not really everyone’s business who uses half the towing, all of the towing, none of the towing. I let you drive your minivan in peace, you can leave me alone in my SUV.

This vehicle wouldn’t even exist if not for the dumb bonus appreciation provision in the tax code. This Jeep is literally a tax play for business owners who blend their business and personal expenses.
