What can they do? Fly round the clock missions to take our the fire would be like pouring a tea cup on it.

Look at google maps of northern Ontario/Alberta and central Quebec. It is forests and lakes and bogs and nothing else. This isn’t like a CA or CO fire where people and property are in danger. There are only so many resources that it makes sense to pour into putting out these fires, even if was logistically feasible.

The culprit is a terrible weather pattern, which may be affected by climate change. We just have to deal with it for now.

The culprit is the status-chasing desperate mommies of DCUM who have killed the earth with their pathetic Tahoes

This is the funniest post ever on DCUM.

Yes OP, we should all stand along the northern border with our box fans pointed at Canada to “do something” about it.

Yes. Mother Nature is making Canada so much warmer that in 50 years it will become an economic juggernaut bc of all the climate refugees. Get your passports and buy land now.

The US and 4 other countries have pitched in with the effort. They are limited by Canada's restrictions on length of time per shift, methods, , policies, etc. Firefighters from the US and Mexico, in particular are ready to fight this thing and assume all risks, but they are limited. So, what can Canada do? Get over themselves and allow the men and wonen who are ready to bust a$$ fighting this do their damned job.

I don’t mean to be rude, as it’s not in our nature to because impolite, but what a stupid post. I regret reading it and wasting my time responding.

FIGHT YOUR FIRES YOU ARE NOW but two weeks ago you guys where all like "they should burn out by October." Canada is pissing a bunch of people off bc they waited too long until things got out of control before trying to stop the fires!!!

OK, Karen.

Has Canada really investigated what’s going on with their forest mismanagement?

Well they haven't stopped their abominable geese from crossing the border illegally, so I doubt they'll do anything about their fires either.

A 9 year old boy in Canada just died from the smoke. It’s not just affecting you, op.

California here - We typically have fires that burn for months on end. No you care all of a sudden about wildfires?

The fires are literally in the unpopulated and largely inaccessible areas of the boreal forest, hundreds of miles away from populations. Would you like Canada to go rake the leaves in areas that are unpopulated? Do you know how big canada is? Do you have a map?

Climate change is exacerbating wildfires. This is not simply an act of nature, and there's blame to share worldwide. Anyone who does not understand this, and the broader destruction that is being wrought by climate change, either needs to learn more or is in denial.

We are only in the beginning stages...soon will come a time when the current extreme heatwaves and wildfires are looked upon as the good ole days.

Whether you believe it or not, it is our future. It is grim. And I'm not a hyperbolic person.

They need to do something other than eating Tim Hortons all day

Wy didn't they try raking the forest? Worked in Finland and his royal orange told me it would work here.
