OMG. You guys are such caricatures. |
I know a lot of miserable people that are rich. Winning is subjective. |
Geez |

Weird that the enthusiastic VT mom can’t spell Pamplin correctly…
Unusual choice, imo, but as long as your kid is happy that’s great. Yes, my non-STEM baby Wahoo got two internship offers after first year. |
I guess you've never heard of autocorrect? I'm not that poster, but when I type Pamplin it autocorrects to Paplin. Pamplin is in no way an "unusual choice." It's an excellent college within an excellent university. VT students have access to many internship opportunities. My non-stem DC will be working within the IC next summer. And btw... your "baby wahoo"? Excuse me while I cringe.

Oh is IC VT mom, welcome back! |
| Wow.. this has never been discussed here before. I'm looking forward to the comparison of these schools - AGAIN |
| UVA/McIntire is the most prestigious program and provides great opportunities , if your child is accepted. Obviously a big “if” for anyone. But can’t go wrong at any of the schools. Price, fit, location, actually getting accepted to the business school are probably more important. My son has a finance internship this summer and there’s at least one intern from each of those schools (multiple from UMD). |
BTW UVA announced last week tgst ut is shifting to a three year undergrad program so students will apply at end of first year, not second |
|
UVA is still a successive hurdle for entry, as is the case at W&M. VT is a direct admit as are other schools including those ranked higher than UVA.
Go the direct admit route at the best business school you can get into if that is want you want to study. |
and Engineering should be UMD, VT. LOL at UVA. UMD is #19 for Engineering VT is #30 UVA is #39 That PP's list is soo funny. |
UVA doesn't have the same prestige for its STEM programs. |
But UVA is direct admit, VT is not. I would not risk any non-direct admit programs for my major of choice. |
I don't know about VT, but UMD can be a direct admit if you have the chops. Otherwise, they put you in letters and science, and after taking a few required classes with a C or above, you can get admitted into the program. |
People. UVA's undergrad commerce school is just what they call their undergrad business school. It's just a label. Just like they call their campus "grounds." |
