Different poster here. The answer is Kristen Mink. She has posted MANY anti-police comments, including ones referring to them as thugs and goons. And she’s on the public safety committee, interestingly. So it’s very fair to say there are council members who are extremely anti-police. |
Yes, this is the correct answer. But that answer will trigger most Maryland democrats, and will drive the DSA types absolutely apoplectic. |
DP: you're having a kneejerk response to words that you consider to be loaded with right wing connotations. Perfect example of why we need to unload words and make them just words again. The PP was saying some pretty logical stuff. The fact that right wingers can also observe the same trends and weaponize them to push their agenda doesn't mean that ignoring the problem is good. It means, come up with a better solution. Moving to this area was a real culture shock for my family because we were used to living in a place where people with different incomes and occupations lived side by side and went to the same schools, playgrounds, shops, movies, etc. The class stratification, almost phobic fear of poverty, and passive racism (mostly against Central American immigrants) here is sure something. But that doesn't mean the crime isn't real, or isn't a concern. |
