Not comparable. The product at a restaurant is the food, so it would be wrong (and ridiculous) to use their space to eat your own food. The product at the movie theater is the movie, and I paid for it. And there’s a little box of Junior Mints in my purse. Deal with it.

Eh, I brought pumped milk, baby food, and then toddler-friendly food (like Cheerios) to restaurants until my kids were old enough to eat food on the kids menu. Nobody ever objected (at least to my face).

My DH worked in the movie theater when we met many years ago. He’s cool with my smuggled Junior Mints. And correct, no one is asking me to pay for any food in the theater, so why does it matter if I bring my own? It’s not a requirement to use the concession stand.

I used to buy a slice of pizza or a bagel w cc at Pumpernickels and go see a movie at Avalon theater. I’d also get a cappuccino at Avalon.

I bring my own water. I don't need to eat during a movie but if I wanted to I might bring my own snack since I don't really eat the junk that can be bought in most theaters. HOWEVER I have went to the fancy theaters and bought full meals before.
