Succession - Season 4

I hate Naomi’s new haircut. Much preferred the bob.

Loved Roman’s responses to Logan’s friend, assistant and advisor.

Loved the whole episode.

But that’s true to her character and her character’s downfall.

She started off the rising star, daddy’s favorite, a bad@ss poised to be queen. Then she became full of herself, overly confident, too greedy, thought she was smarter and sexier than she was and we see her go down in Season 2. Now in Season 3 she’s starting off a mess- frumpy, scattered, Tom is the one now playing her, etc. Time will tell if she rebounds or comes out of it.

I agree! Usually I love Tom & Greg, but their dynamic was just ... off and not funny. Shiv and Roman are so unappealing and Kendall was just dull. Logan's gruff, hateful personality has gotten really old. Hopefully the season will get better.

Ugh, I hate the way Roman is incapable of speaking without constant references to sex. It just gets beyond old. How would you ever have a meaningful conversation with someone like that.

I feel sad for Tom.

Nan’s house is gorgeous. I love the decor.

Tom is the worst character on the show. I hate him with the intensity of a thousand million trillion suns. He's awful.

He is awful, but that's what makes him so delicious. He's such a kiss-up sycophant. And he plays it so well.

Agree. They really nailed her character “oh I just hate this!” All the while driving up the price. That and the faux humble - the wine “is like jam jars to me”

In the earlier episode she fussed about her cook working too hard all the while giving her more to do, etc.

Really fun character development.

That's not really character development it's cliche

Is this the same humorless, patronizing poster? ^^ Move along, please.

I loved the way Greg chose the absolute worst moment to talk to Logan about having sex in his house. You just want to slap him and say, "NOT NOW, GREG!!" He's so clueless. He and Tom are my favorite characters.

Who are the buffoons on this thread who only care about haircuts and outfits? did you wander in from the beauty forum or something? Do you turn the sound off when you watch the show so you're not distracted by the words?

Is everyone who says they understand succession lying? I’m not an MBA and so much of the business jargon goes over my head.

You wouldn’t. That’s him though. Then he spits out businesses acumen that stuns.

But that's all just a MacGuffin. Has no bearing on my enjoyment of the show.

Some thoughts:

Re: Shiv’s pregnancy, other shows have done much better keeping characters looking chic while they were pregnant. Remember Olivia Pope? Making Ahov look frumpy was a deliberate choice not to use camera angles, good tailoring, hid her stomacn with PROPs, etc.

Re: actors vs character: there was an NYT podcast where actors were discussing the fact that the guy who plays Kendall is a Daniel Day Lewis disciple method actor. So basically they had a grown a** adult acting like a toddler on meth, all day, everY day.

Finally, if you name 2 of your 3 kids Shiv and Romulus, what do you expect to happen?

Apparently they have promised a conclusive successor. Time to guess who wins. After everything, making Frank or Geeey CEO seems like a letdown. But the kids are such a mess.

The Shiv / Tom situation makes so much sense and is so relateable, yet made me really sad.

It's Siobhan - Shiv is a nickname.
