Pronounced Kath-rin. FWIW, I know two east coast old money ladies with this spelling. One is in her 80s, the other is in her early 40s. They are not related. Both go by Kathryn—not Kate, Kathy, or Katy/Katie. I also know a Catrin pronounced Cat-trin. |
And we can trot out people who also properly pronounce ‘th’ with a ‘t’ sound. Cannot believe how many snobby people think their way is the only way and belittle someone naming their baby differently. Their spellings are not wrong. |
I don't really understand why I've kept up checking in on this thread, lol, but I agree Kathryn is fairly common...or at least has been around for awhile. |
