Neighbors dog will not stop barking

Call animal control. People who allow their dogs to bark constantly and at all hours need to be held accountable. They don’t care what their surrounding neighbors think. Why should you care what they think of you?

You can contact your neighborhood citizens association and they can file a complaint on behalf of the neighborhood.

People who allow their dogs to bark at all hours think they are getting away with it. What they don’t know is if the affected neighbors are already taking action with the authorities. It’s a slow but steady process.

I have my own big dog. He is not (nor ever has been) a barker.

We are in between 2 homes with tiny high-pitched barkie dogs. During the day--(I WAH) I'm ok--they don't let it go forever.

But one neighbor has started letting their dog out on Saturday and Sunday mornings at 7 am where it will high-pitch bark under me bedroom window for at least 15-20 minutes. Then it's over for the rest of the day. However, then I can't fall the f*kkkkk back to sleep after being jolted awake.

This on the only days I can sleep in----I'm utterly exhausted the rest of the day. I can't go to bed earlier--nor should I be worrying about doing that on a weekend night after working all week. It's so inconsiderate because we also have a weekend noise ordinance I think is 9am.

We have always had white noise machines...yes the are on full blast...but this little f****Rs high pitch maniacal barking cuts right through it. Funny---my own dog can sleep right through it though.

Are you in Montgomery County? We are dealing with a very similar situation. Owners with two dogs they never walk and toss outside for hours on end. They bark all night sometimes. Five properties adjoin their property and at least one property directly behind them has young children. MOCO Animal Control is now on it, so definitely call.

Yes, animal control officers open a standing file based on initial complaints. They then escalate to fines if there are further complaints, then they remove the animals. They also make “spot” visits.

Another violation they can get banged on is excessive dog waste in their yard. It’s a health violation as well as a pet violation. If they aren’t walking their dogs, they sure aren’t cleaning up after them.
