None of them are legit. I got a recommendation from a friend, this coach was smart, charging a high dollar hourly fee to make it seem like we were going to get full value in return. She even boasted that her clients get into their first choice of schools, what a sales pitch. Parents with marginal kids will throw their money at essay and SAT coaches so I can't blame the coaches for taking it. |
It was 4 hours and it’s just a draft. It’s only 650 words. How long should it take? |
To clarify, the sessions are 90 minutes. |
FWIW, I'm a college counseling tutor Wyzant with an advanced degree and recent experience reading applications for a university. I've never used Chat GPT, nor would I ever "help" a student by providing them an essay. (I also make no promises about where a student will get in. That definitely seems like a red flag.) Not every student needs or wants an essay coach, and not every student can afford one, which is part of why I also volunteer in this capacity. That said, I'm confident that I'm helpful to the students who work with me. |
How can we contact you? |
Bump. Do you have contact info? |
Any keywords to use to find you on Wyzant? |
Sorry, no longer on Wyzant (now working in a local college consulting group). But Wyzant reviews and ratings are helpful, as they're only from prior customers. And whether on Wyzant or an in-personal company, you should be able to do a free introductory call with an essay coach to understand their approach. |
