I have no idea what his actual belief system is when well. He's not doing that. He was actually annoyed and wanted people to quit telling him to "get on meds" and to stop referring to his mental health. The funny thing is he thinks he is perfectly fine. It's the fans/media that blame this on his mental health.

Lack of inhibitions etc. from his mental illness - okay, but your fundamental values don't change. He's been thinking these things for a while, but was just medicated enough to not say it in public. So he does not get a pass from me.

I don't know his views when he is healthy and not manic, maybe they are the same. But psychosis and mania actually do change your fundamental views. People who are delusional and manic believe all kind of things and say all kinds of things that in no way represent their actual views. Mania is not a truth serum that disinhibits you to just say what you really think.

I am not giving him a 'pass' in that I don't know how sick he is, and I don't know his underlying views, but I have seen many manic people who absolutely said and did and believed all kinds of things that were in no way representative at all of who they were or what they believed when well.

If you're talking about that tweet that's not what she's saying. If you look at her Twitter page she clearly says he was wrong for those anti-Semitic comments. She's pointing out that Kanye may have done this on purpose because he already said he wanted out of that adidas deal. And she's also pointing out that nobody really cares unless you say something anti-Semitic. The Black community even supported him after he said slavery was a choice. I mean, the man seems to be in self-destruction mode so it's not a completely crazy theory.
