This. I like Britney as an entertainer but that doesn't mean she gets a free pass as a parent. K Fed seems cheesy and definitely not the kind of guy I want my sister to date, but that doesn't mean he's a bad father. He's raised several kids, none of which I have read anything negative about in the press. They all seem to get along, seem to like their father. Even the biggest player with ladies can end up being a good dad.

I have no idea if he solely lives off of child support from Britney. But when I read all these threads on DCUM re divorce, custody, financial settlements, etc. it is amazing to me that suddenly Britney and K Fed are different. He is doing the day to day, nitty gritty, raising children. Teens are hard, kids are hard. She's twirling around taking bikini pictures on instagram with her cute boyfriend. Put the Britney facts into any regular DCUM couple, why is K Fed such a horrible person and Britney so perfect?

Because we infantilize women and expect less of them than men. She's a poor little flower. I suspect the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Both KFed and Britney are terrible parents when it comes down to it. All these years we've been thinking that he is the stable one, but no decent parent would allow their kids to give interviews and make those comments about their mother. He put on an act for all these years to ensure her money keeps coming in while also seemingly poisoning the kids against their own mother. I will admit that maybe he was the least terrible option to raise the kids given the other potential candidates (it's not like her parents would've been a better choice).

And of course, Britney has a host of ongoing issues. As hurtful as it may have been for her kids to say those things, she should never have responded publicly. I don't necessary think she's off the mark in what she said, but she should never have said it publicly.

Agree. All she said was that she was not leaving the kids any inheritance. When they turn eighteen, she was cutting them off and they would have to work. Warren a buffet also said e wasn’t leaving his kids an inheritance.

She's disinheriting her kids? And because Warren Buffet, who raised his kids and gave them his wisdom and his love (as well as lots of stocks and a $2b foundation each), pledged not to give his billions to his kids, it's admirable or even acceptable for her to do the same? She hasn't given her kids her wisdom, her love, or her presence. Disinheriting them is cruel of her. Not exactly unexpected though.

This crystallized for me after seeing the videos he released of her. Those showed dysfunctional parenting but nowhere near as bad as I imagined. He wants all that money and he wants it without having to deal with her.

I don't think people understand, or even care to understand, how a conservatorship can stunt someone's development. Having autonomy is considered a basic need. When you don't have it people wither.

If she was not allowed to see the kids, she has zero bounding with them.

I am sure they will be better off when they turn 18 and she stops paying.

She quickly regained some custody and was at 50% before the incident with her dad. Then it dropped to 30%.

Not sure what it is now.

You’re comparing a mentally ill person and what is allegedly a fully functional adult man. Not the same thing. He 100% lives off child support. When he sought a raise in CS his stated income was 20k for the year. Part of being a good parent is teaching his kids good values. Rather than do something useful since the boys have been in school full-time he married a woman with a criminal record who also doesn’t work and had more kids that he won’t be able to provide for in two years. He could’ve gotten like a number of degrees and started a new career over all this time to show his sons the importance of ambition and education. Instead he has sat around getting fat and smoking weed while his disabled ex supports them all.

What is he going to do after the kids turn 18? How many books/movies can he get out of this saga?
