+1 OP is a right winger, hence the lie about where the network is being taken. They’re going OAN. |
|
The right wing cable news audience is very small. This is why Fox News has survived. There is just not room for anyone else.
In primetime, Fox News averaged 2.12 million viewers, down 1%; MSNBC was at 1.3 million, down 2% and CNN posted 731,000, down 15%. In the 25-54 demo, Fox News was down 13% to 292,000, compared to 159,000 for CNN, down 18% and 133,000 for MSNBC, down 22%. Comparison to network news NBC 6.24 million 25-54 1.13 million viewers CBS 4.45 million 713,000 adults 25-54 ABC 7.35 million 1.26 million adults 25-54 Now if CNN copies Fox with its make up news and right wing nut jobbery they will lose a lot more views. It’s like a radio station changing formates. Rock to country you lose all the rock listeners. |
| Cable news is in a death spiral. CNN trying to gobble some of Fox News market share is a last ditch attempt. |
If it does that it will lose views. I do not see any Fox views going to CNN unless Tucker jumps ships. |
| Shocking. Conservatives view them as a liberal mouth piece, so they decide to purge anchors seen as too liberal, replace them with conservatives (including an anchor who rose to fame criticizing the Obama girl's skirt lengths) and then wondered why conservatives still didn't like them and democrats stopped watching them |
Which conservatives? I haven't been following CNN. |
You mean it will be dropped by all major cable networks? Is that what you mean by "going OAN"? |
|
Running liberal shows. He started Morning Joe, which in early years might not have been as liberal. Joe Scarborough on Bill Maher was pretty conservative. Ran CBS News This Morning, and Stephen Colbert's Late Show. Cable news ratings is less about politics, and more about visuals. That is why Fox News is so successful, and other networks have tried to copy the look of having a big mess on screen. Fox every time I watched clearly had lower production quality in terms of cameras cutting off and things like that, but always has a tabloid feel, which is what made Murdoch rich. Who cares if CNN loses viewers? There don't appear to be that many to begin with. |
|
I mean, if y'all are okay with fantasy news having little to do with actual events, I guess you're upset with the layoffs. Hate to see anyone lose their jobs, but CNN was completely untrustworthy in their reporting. They crossed a line.
Once in a while I'll turn on CNN with the faint hope I might get an idea what's going on somewhere in the world. Domestic news? They've proven to be partisan to a point no journalist should go. If the new CNN is just as ridiculous as the current one, I will not be relying on them to tell it to me straight. |
You can subscribe to Fox or Fox Nation any time you want. How long did the multi million dollar venture CNN Plus exist before it was shut down? Like 29 days? |
| CNN Plus - $100 million and lasted 28 days. LOL |
|
CNN is just going to lose viewers that way OP.
If they went from moderate to far left, they would probably gain viewers. |
