+1 (this has also been true at other schools)

+2. The Good Guy With A Gun Who Saves The Day is a Right Wing myth.

+ 1 million (skipping all the ++++ in between).

Who killed the shooter?

It certainly wasn’t any SRO or law enforcement at arrived right away. They were too coward to confront the shooter and waited 1 hour for tactical backup.

I truly do not understand why police officers are not rising up against the US allowance of personal assault weapons. I wish they would start speaking up about completely banning these types of guns. We need to stop these mass murders, and as Uvalde has shown us, cops with guns are simply not a match for killers with AR-15s and body armor.

Check what is 8n the back of a squad car.

I have no idea what is in the back of a squad car since I have luckily never been back there. But again, why wouldn't all police officers support a ban on assault weapons and much more stringent gun regulations? Instead, it seems (at least in small town Texas... where I grew up) that many police officers are good old boys who love the NRA.

No. I’m a teacher and I do not want my school to be a police state.

The officers who tried to confront the shooter were shot. How do you confront a shooter that is holding a semi-automatic rifle? Should SROs be armed with similar weapons? What's your solution?

Well this post aged well…

Well, if a shooter comes, call a counselor if you don't want a "police state"

You will likely find a shotgun or AR platform rifle.

So what? The oft-mentioned "hero mentality" is still not common among people, including many police officers. Wouldn't it be so much easier for cops if they did not have to deal with deranged people with assault rifles and armor-piercing ammo?

In previous shootings, the SRO hasn’t always been helpful.

Maybe a counselor could’ve talked the Texas shooter down because the police were too busy worrying about getting a hangnail trying to open a door to do anything.
