I know it will never happen but if Abbott or someone similarly situated would risk his career by calling for gun control, the whole world could change. Some of these types must have a conscience…can’t someone break ranks? What about country stars, who already have enough money? We need a few key people to change their minds. Now.

Honestly, mass shootings play right into the Republicans’ messaging: government is useless and cannot protect you. So you might as well tear it all down.

We are about to witness a massive long term spike in crime in the US, as we are now utterly awash in guns and if abortion is criminalized.

This is all part of the Republicans’ plan for this country. They want this craziness to happen because chaos is an opportunity for power & wealth.

The politicians will never do this as they sold their souls for votes based on this topic. They will not risk alienating that part of the population regardless of how they feel themselves. Coincidently, if there is a hell, they will be there soon enough.

And because they best understand the mindset of us vs. them, of strongmen politics, they love the idea of wild west style "justice" and vengeance and see everything as danger that can only be addressed by force. In short, they'd love a police state with armed citizens being a part of the force.
