The Kentucky Derby is so sadly American

Meanwhile, a bunch of Latino immigrants are actually getting sh#t done, training and riding the horses, running the event. It’s sadly comical.

Is there a better allegory for the degenerate navel gazing of the American elite? I’m watching this on TV and just gobsmacked by how they interview wealthy housewives about their dumb hats while ignoring everyone who makes it happen.

I suggest you leave, then, if so unpalatable to you.

We don’t have to leave. We’re staying and working for change. Sorry that upsets you.

I am white and American and I love my people and my country. I cannot stand racist bigots like the OP.

I’m sorry you’re so simple and your critical thinking ability is so stunted. Must be hard going through life that way.

+1. OP is just jealous that she's spending a rainy day on her couch with her cat.

And, virtue signaling.

This is such a dumb, tedious post. It’s a freshman college student trying (and failing) to align herself with brown people and “non-Americans” whom she assumes are more sophisticated.

Horse racing is global. The finery at the Derby is nothing compared to Royal Ascot, which I’m sure you’ve never heard of but is way more of a spectacle (and not American). How about the Dubai World Cup, Ms. World Traveler? Pretty ostentatious, right? The Arc in Paris? Same thing.

Who TF are the “Latino immigrants” you’re talking about? If you’re referring to the jockeys, these are massively respected pro athletes who at the top tier make millions of dollars. They’re also not all Latino and those that are aren’t all immigrants, you bigot.

Maybe you should do some “navel gazing” of your own. You must be in a pretty bad spot to get so worked up about something you clearly have no knowledge of, and take to the internet to reveal your own ignorance.

OP has never traveled or wouldn’t write something so ignorant.

Yes, it is. You described your post perfectly.

Sorry you’re poor and posted something stupid. Not our fault.

Horse racing is cruel and inhumane.

Those horses live better lives than your average DCUM poster. Unless you are UC or at least UMC.

It is uniquely American. Most European and Asian countries don’t have the cultural diversity we have. We’re a melting pot. So yeah, you’re not going to see a lot of folks of Latin American or African descent do any type of jobs at a European F1 race. This American self-haymte is a bit ridiculous some times.

Notice how OP turned “American” into a pejorative?

Progressives really do think that way, sadly.

OP represents pretty much everything wrong with this country right now. I think we’ve reached peak stupidity.
