![]() ![]() Ok, so another troll. Do better. |
Ha! Now imagine those of us within the likes of Annandale, Mt. Vernon, Lewis, Edison, etc. How many DCUM folks have even stepped within 10 feet of those schools other than for a sports event? Judging by the usual commentary, it's as if they think they'll get robbed by a student gang member. |
Agreed. People post about schools their kids don’t attend ALL the time. Stop with the persecution complex Langley parent. |
How about a directive to ALL parents not to post about a school unless they have firsthand experience with it? Saying that "some people do this, so we should be allowed to" is beyond childish. |
Could you define "firsthand experience"? |
When I say anything about schools I comment based on what can be found online (test scores, data on school safety, which team wins more in track etc). It’s ridiculous to opine broadly on the kids’ personalities, physical appearance etc without knowledge. |
I know nothing about either school, it was the OPs post that she wanted to move so that her kids were in the social strata as the rich kids that caught my attention. I mean, she really isn't ask about academics or after school clubs but wants to justify moving so her kids are with rich kids. My only point was to save the mortgage difference and save it for retirement or college, but that is me. Honestly, I don't think the OP cares that much about most anything else, at least not from the posts that were made. It could also be an amazing troll post to try and stir people up. |
Seriously? Have a child there, teach there, or an alumnus. This is not hard. Not, "My neighbor's cousin's babysitter's niece said blah blah blah." |
+100 I think a lot of these people assume no one will call them on it. Very transparent. |
Bingo. I was fairly certain it was a troll OP from the get-go. |
Chantilly would get my vote. Less affluenza and entitlement on display. |
NP. I am an Asian and completely understand where you’re coming from. Before choosing Langley, you will have to carefully consider whether your kids will fit in (not only academically but also socially). If they don’t fit in, what’s the point? We make $250k and didn’t even consider Langley. Honestly, if we had bought an $1 million plus house in Langley, I don’t know how we can afford other activities and travels that other Langley kids take as granted. For $275k income level, many other Asian families settle for Chantilly, Oakton, or Marshall. Look into the western side of Oakton boundary. |
How is this even a question
|
This post reminds me of the movie “The Founder” when Ray Kroc decides between finding his franchises at golf playing country club or hard-working middle class couples. Wife wants to stay at country club and pretty house.
Pick your poison ![]() |
All you people who assume the asian immigrants in chantilly are somehow lower class than langley have absolutely no clue about the social status of the immigrant families in their countries in Asia. They are very often of way higher social class than the local american langley families. To the OP you are really deluded and making a mistaken assumption about class and income and are ignoring the role of immigration from asian countries.
