“fleecing of the rubes!”

Tell ya what AMG-owner, I’ll do the exact same service and only charge you $1,000. Sound good?

What is MB expecting to have problems with so soon that it needs to be checked so thoroughly at 9k miles?

They are probably upselling by adding "recommended" things to the list, most of which you don't need to address until a few years down the road.

AMG owner here. I'm not sure what was done in this particular case but my A-service was never $2000, it was $400, I believe - still expensive but not $2K expensive. The first A-service did coincide with a rear differential service, which was $2000. Coincidence?

An hour of labor and 1.5 liters of gear oil. Yikes.

I looked up my records, I remembered incorrectly. It was 300 for the 2000 mile diff service. I feel silly.

I take my subaru in for service at the dealership for $75.

FWIW, I did lease a MB at one point, but I knew the cost of ownership for such a car was going to be ridiculous, which is why I leased it as a "fun" car only for 3 years.

+1. You are buying an MB for a lot of reasons, but cheap parts and service is not one of those reasons.
