Have you wrote Chris on the issue? Considering sending an email in support of removing masks, would appreciate some sort of open forum on the issue but am afraid of being labeled some crazy anti-vaxxer (primary parent) |
Is there any point? As a primary parent, I feel like we’re at the whim of everyone else and our kids will just get labeled as some weird anti-vax family. We’re boosted and just ready for our kids to do what practically every other district in the country is doing. |
Plus one |
| Another Lee parent. I think it’s silly to keep outdoor masking, and I don’t understand the delay, but I trust it will only be another week or so, so what does it matter? Before I’d complain about it I’d remember that I don’t have to be the head of two schools and I don’t know what the issues are that Chris is dealing with. I do know that Chris is not stupid. |
| PP here: not that I think there’s anything wrong with emailing and telling him your preference. |
| I think it's great that your schools communicated at all. Ours has said absolutely nothing. |
Aside from "we have to contact OSSE because TTS conflicts with lifting outdoor masking," we've heard nothing. |
| Why can't these school leaders just be decisive rather than taking parental input?? Nearly every. single. other. school in the country has dropped masks. Be leaders. |
Virtue signaling. |
| So has any school heard anything about adopting DC health updated guidance? |
Lee just sent a poll to parents. The framing of the choice and language in the email does not have me very optimistic for anything aside from outdoor removal of masks. |
PP- will note that even if I disagree with whatever their decision is, the communications and asking for parental input is very commendable and appreciated. I can’t imagine how frustrating it would be to have radio silence |
Omg. If my kid’s charter leaves this up to a vote, I give up. |
No. You absolutely do not want measurements, that are supposed to be guided by science, to be voted upon by parents. |
The voting is an absolute joke. I'd hope Chris and leadership take it as a pulse, and then just follow CDC. |
