Hi everyone. I could use some input.
This month will be my 8th month trying to conceive my first child. I am 36, just met with an RE, and will start with a medicated IUI on my cycle following this current one. I'm on CD 3 right now. My tests were all great. My husband's semen analysis was not stellar, but our RE was not concerned about it and considers us unexplained. I know this is not a long time compared to what many women have been through. I'm not too terribly freaked out quite yet, but this forum has still been a godsend during some confusing times. Basically, I'm posting because I want to throw the kitchen sink at this final month TTC naturally before we start with interventions. I'm interested to know if anyone has any tips, however random, of things you tried that you think were helpful in conceiving. It helps me feel like I'm taking some kind of action in this process to try something new. For example, I'm going to try taking Mucinex around when I ovulate because I've heard that the expectorant might help things along by thinning the cervical mucous. I've already been doing ovulation test kits and getting the timing right for sex, using Pre-seed, taking prenatal vitamins and generally trying to be healthy. Thank you in advance for any additional tips! |

Cut out coffee
Eat pineapple core And (I actually think this one has some legitimacy) every night turn the lights low, lie in the legs up the wall yoga pose, and YouTube some sort of sacral chakra tones or fertility relaxation music (basically, something instrumental, relaxing and slightly trance-y) and just RELAX for 30 minutes - focus on breathing deeply and visualize openness and healthy circulation into your pelvis |
| Go to an integrative doctor and get full nutritional testing. (Don't bother asking your regular doctors to do it, they're useless with stuff like that.) |

I did everything but the kitchen sink and my OB told me to stop with all the supplements, soft cups, baby aspirin, mucinex, etc... although she said preseed could be helpful. DH also had just okay semen analysis but my Re: was also not that concerned about it.
The month that worked for me I cut back on caffeine, did OPK, and preseed. I know you are pre-intervention, but I had started that track and had an HSG that month which I really think helped. If you are going down that path, I would recommend going ahead and doing it b/c you probably will anyway, and it could help. Good luck! |
| the most important thing is the timing. many women time it too late. |

OP here, thanks ladies. I did have the HSG, which was all clear.
I could stand to cut back on coffee and be more mindful about relaxation - I will try that starting now. |
| Pre-seed may help. Good luck. |
| Sex every day for two weeks... but sure if you tried tht already, but I think it’s especially important to have sex before you ovulate. I always got pregnant when I had unprotected sex 3-4 days before my supposed ovulation day |
