Need cotillion dress for 5 ft 7 in 7th grader

Where can I buy a knee length dress appropriate for cotillion? Having a hard time due to her height.

I'd like to take her in store, also.

I had this same problem. Every dress we looked at seemed way too short because she was so tall. We ended up having something altered to be longer.

But, here's the thing: my daughter ended up being in the minority in terms of following the knee length rule. The majority of the girls were wearing shorter dresses.

So, if you can't find anything exactly knee length, don't worry too much about it. Just find a pretty dress your daughter likes and feels good in.

Go to Lord and Taylor.

Is Les Enfants on River Road still in business? They would have something nice.

Book a session with a personal shopper at Nordstroms. There's no fee and it's really helpful when you have very specific requirements. Let the shopper know ahead of time what you are looking for and she can pull a bunch of options. I did it when I needed to get a dress for very-particular 13 yr old DD to wear to a bat mitzvah. It was a great.

Probably not for a kid this tall.

A personal shopper with Nordstrom OR Lord and Taylor.

Midi dresses are in right now...I don't feel like this should be difficult? Echo the PPs in that Lord & Taylor and Nordstrom have the best dress selection in-store. Nordstrom is even better online.

You could also look for a long dress and have it hemmed.

I know you say in store but Nordstrom (free shipping and returns) and Amazon Prime Wardrobe (same)...are your friends...order 5-6 dresses and return.

Op here, and I'll check out your recs- thanks all.

I agree seems easy, but the dresses that seem appropriate for her age are way short. The dresses that are long enough seem like something her 42 yo mom might buy as well.

I have a 5' 8" 6th grader. For her 5th grade promotion I had problems but found a lot of options at Loft in the XS or S size. They had cute dresses that weren't too matronly.
