I found out my new girlfriend has been sleeping with a guy for money. I won’t say how I found out, but I’m disgusted. I confronted her, and she told me it was for the past year to pay off SL debt, but she cut it off when we started having sex. I’m not sure how much of it’s true, but I don’t know if I can trust her or see her in the same light. The thought of her basically being some guys pr**titute make me sick. The hard part is I love her, and until I found out, I really thought she was the one. We just do so well together. I know judging past actions is never good, but this is a little more than being promiscuous or a party girl. I’m hurt, confused, and angry.

She was having sex with the same guy, consistently for a year, to pay off her student loan. Is this really so different from her having sex with a guy for a year because he bought her nice stuff and took her to dinner now and then (aka a boyfriend)? Get over it.

Not entirely true. My DH doesn’t know, but I had a generous fwb back in college. It was for 6 months and it helped me pay down a good amount of debt. Looking back, it’s not something I’m proud of, and I would never want my child to do something like that.
