Can't stop lactating after stillbirth

Anonymous
I delivered on Friday morning. Woke up from surgery and already felt "hard." Nurses claimed that wasn't engorment and it comes a day or 2 later. She also said it will probably never come or very little since I was only 24 weeks. Well I've literally soaked through a sports bra an hour all night. I'm doing cabbage and Sudafed. I was hoping by today it would be better but I literally can't even lift my arms and my chest feels like stone. This combined with coming off the progesterone is making me an insane lerson. Hot flashes, endless tears. I feel like I'm losing my mind. How can I get this to stop?

I’m so sorry. My cousin got two shots.

Sudafed and no more milk tea, plus ibuprofen for the pain. Try to avoid hot water right on your breasts or anything else that will stimulate a let down. That will encourage more milk production. The shots aren't standard anymore, but I would definitely ask under your circumstances. So so sorry for your loss.

I’m sorry OP.

Super tight bind the chest. Like transman bindings.

Careful about clogged ducts with bindings. If OP is lactating as much as she is, I wouldn't risk mastitis on top of everything else.

OP, why not talk to a lactation consultant? Even just call the Breastfeeding Center if you don't feel up for going anywhere. Hugs to you.

I'm so terribly sorry. Call your OB. There's a shot or pill they can give you.

So sorry OP! I did cabbage leaves, sports bra and sudafed as well. The worst was dealing with the tail end when I had to return to work 2 weeks pp. hang in there!

Really sorry for your loss. I did sudafed, changed out chilled cabbage leaves in my sports bra every hour. Things got better in 2-3 days. You will get through this!
