Do you worry about terrorism when you travel to Europe?

Anonymous
We are on our way to Europe and will be visiting countries with a “severe” terrorism threat; London, Paris and Belgium. I’m feeling excited but also very nervous about it. When I last visited years ago, there was no such threat. Am I being silly? I’m trying to hide my anxiety from my kids, who are beyond excited.

That’s why wealthy white folk are flocking to Iceland.

Like everywhere, you need to stay alert. That said , there are more crazies in The USA than Europe.

No. I live in DC now and was in NYC before; I don't think Paris is any more of a target than home.

No, I never do. Things are going to happen. I still live my life.

This.

I don’t assume any public space is safe from a terrorist attack, but we refuse to stay home.

No. I worry more about people with guns here.

No. I’ve been to all 3 of those recently and I didn’t worry about it. I feel like major US cities are just as risky.

All the nuts are in America

If you live in DMV area, you should be used to living in a high risk area.

I understand your worry OP. However I agree with PP that guns in USA are a greater risk

Correct. I’m rarely more anxious than when I’m in a movie theater in the US.

+1 on more crazies here than there

USA has more mass shootings than where you're going.
