Apparently, both Facebook and Apple are looking to grow their workforce in Northern Virginia.

| Par for the course at this point. MD, particularly MoCo, is a much more difficult/expensive place to do business. It's no surprise that most businesses are looking on the other side of the river. |
I'm not even a little bit surprised. Montgomery is business unfriendly and always has been. |
|
The internet backbone for the country is in Nova. That's why they are going there - to be close to the data. Plus, both of those companies work closely with the USG on intel and technology contracting.
This has nothing to do with MD business climate and EVERYTHING to do with where the agencies - and hence Big Fed $$$ - are located. Investments by the USG in NoVA 30 years ago are paying huge dividends for NoVA. Land in NoVA was much cheaper back then than land in MD. |
|
Why the F**k is this about Maryland? Why not about what it means for NoVa?
Why do you take every business location decision, that has nothing to do with Md, and make it about Md? Are you a Va vs Md sh*t stirrer? Do you think you can make some point about social and economic policy this way? Why not post about actually live political questions in the metro area? |
| Not surprised. Why would any business come to Maryland? |
| We are offering the incentives though . Amazon in a quote recently is "incentive-obsessed" see Amazon thread |
| HAHAHA they don't think of this... Maryland doesn't care...about business they elect Ben Jealous-of-your-taxmoney and MARX Elrich |
As a resident of MD it concerns me to see business after business relocating to or expanding in NoVA, while we remain stuck in the mud. Have you seen the latest budget numbers? Not good. We need growth to pull us out of this mess, but businesses seem to prefer NoVA. |
Well, yeah. It's still more of a red state with lower tax rates. It is what it is. |
Dismal looking debt expansion charts for MoCo http://www.theseventhstate.com/?p=9542 |
Not while Hogan-Trump is governor, anyway. No business wants to be in a place where the governor is spooning in bed with the most hated man in our lifetime. When Ben Jealous is governor, you're going see traffic jams of moving vans coming across the bridge from Virginia, carrying all the companies that will be relocating to Maryland. |
Hahahhahahahahhahahahahahaha. |
| Hogan-Trump?! any argument you make after that declaration is completely invalid because it shows what kind of an idiot you are. |
I'm not a Trump supporter in the slightest, but many business people are not anti-trump. Maybe personally, but not professionally. So highly doubtful that ousting Hogan will have a positive impact on the state. |
