What’s your favorite?
I do not want a van. |
Captains chairs are usually standard or an option on almost all SUV's. The 2019 Honda Pilot coming out this week I think looks like it got some good upgrades. Two of our very close family friends have Acura MDX's that they love. |
I really wanted the new Expedition. But captains chairs are only an option on the mid and high level models. I was not prepared to spend $60K pre tax on a car. I ended up with the new Traverse and I like it. I would probably say I love it but I'm still getting over not getting the Expedition. |
| Santa Fe. Love mine. It was not 60K; 35K. |
| New Expedition. It's amazing and it parks itself. We looked at multiple others (Tahoe, Pilot, etc.) and liked this one the best by far. |
|
How many kids have you got? Hold old are they? Dogs?
|
| I have captain's chairs in my Highlander and I like it. |

Almost 3 and 3 months. Have a Subaru fortestor now and it feels tight/we can barely fit a third person in the back. We travel a lot so if we have a third kid I want the captains chairs so the oldest can hop easily in the back. We live in the city (street parking) and walk everywhere. Use a double bob or a vista so big beast strollers.
I figure if I’m going to get a new car now, might as well factor in a third child so I won’t have to do this again. I’ve had two cars in my 15 years of driving so something that will last. |
| We love our Pilot. Everyone I know who has a Highlander is obsessed with it. |
Are the highlander and Pilot much bigger than the Subaru Forrestor? |
| We love our VW Atlas. Has a third row. Very spacious. |
| We are likely going for the suburb ascent. We test drove everything in the similar price point with a third row/captains chairs and it and the atlas were by far the best for 3rd row space while still having cargo space. I’d actually give the edge to the atlas on the cargo space with the 3rd row up, but I’m wary of vw maintenance. |
| Toyota Highlander! I cannot recommend it highly enough. |
| Ford explorer |
| I don't have one so I'm not particularly helpful, just chiming in that the Suburu Ascent looks amazing. I'd definitely go that route when/if I needed a third row. |
