We are already contemplating where to send our baby daughter (don't flame me...you've got to start thinking about it that soon when you live in the city in the event that a move is necessary) and I'm hearing good things about Our Lady of Victory, Annunciation and Blessed Sacrament. Can anyone advise whether it's practically impossible to get into these schools as a pre-k student or kindergartner, or are there usually spots available? If it comes down to a competitive entry process I'm assuming being a member of the parish helps? We're willing to switch to one of those churches. |

Annunciation is a lovely school; however, it is very small. The kindergarten class is approximately fifteen students with one teacher and one aid. Priority is given to siblings. The first open house is in November and acceptance is rolling, so the early you apply the better your chance. My daughter loves Annunciation. Good luck with your decision. |
Look at the schools (but be aware that some things can change with a change in administration) when your child is about 2ish. Then join the parish. Priority always goes to siblings and parishioners. Beyond that it's a toss up for spots. Catholic schools don't do testing or interviews the way privates do so you won't need references ![]() I think I would lead with Victory or BS. Annunciation is very small - often they can't field teams or activities because of numbers. Odd since other area schools (Victory, BS, Trinity, Little Flower, Mercy) are bursting at the seams. |
OLOV is first come, first serve after sibs and church members.
BS is MUCH harder to get into b/c the church community is so robust. I cannot imagine Annunciation is turning many away... |
