Congrats. Our child was also accepted. Do you intend to send you child? We love the community, but did not get a sense of the academics during the tour. Any thoughts on the academics? We are a little torn.

I think everyone gets it.

That's not true. You have to be an active member of the parish.

Preference is given to active members of the parish residing within certain boundaries surrounding the church. BS is in high demand, and it is not easy to get in.

On the academics question, i've been told the school scores among the best consistently every year in the region for catholic schools. I don't there is published scores but typically score quite high in the terranova testing that is done every year. Might be a good question for the new principal. He has focused on academic initiatives for the new year with training programs for the teachers for example. The academic load ramps up considerably around third and fourth grade.

Does anyone have a sense of # of applications and slots this year (this past admission season) they are willing to share?
Anonymous
Last year, they only had 12 non-sibling spots. This year they had more openings, but I don't know the exact number.
Anonymous
I think 20-25 is more normal. this year they had around 30 spots so unusally more available.

Were those 30 open spots across various grades? Or was this just in K? (I saw a post earlier indicating the they only had 9 non-sibling spots for K.)

Also, any parishoners NOT get into K? Anyone get called in to meet with Fr. John before acceptances were mailed?

Ignore my preceding post. I just realized that it's no longer 2009.....
