I am working out in the morning and I'd like to workout hard (get a good run in, weights too) and will want to break a sweat. Thing is, I'm getting my hair colored in the afternoon. I know you're not supposed to wash your hair before a hair appointment but does that mean I have to walk around with my nasty filthy hair all day? I have dry shampo that I suppose I could try again, but it never seems to work well for me.
Any suggestions? |

first world problems poor baby

I do this all the time - I use dry shampoo before the workout to help absorb some of the sweat, then shower and wash my hair with water only, and let it air dry until my hair appointment, just because I don't want to blow dry it twice in the same day. Although honestly, does it really matter if you wash your hair first? They will wash it there too, no? (I do cuts only, so honestly didn't know this).

| Oh for God’s sake, just skip the freaking workout that one day. |
| Just wash it and use a good conditioner. It’s fine. Your scalp may feel a little itchier after coloring than it would if you didn’t wash that day, but it won’t actually hurt anything. |
No, you put color on dry hair and wash afterward, not before. |
| Rinse your hair thoroughly. You shouldn't be washing it daily, anyway. And if you can't abide not, I'd much rather forego a shampoo than a workout. |
| I'd just wash my hair using water only. |
If this upsets you so much why are you looking at the beauty and fashion forum? Tell me why you thought any thread here would be anything other than a first world problem. |
| I never wash my hair before a hair appt. My stylist said it didn't matter for the coverage. |
| Idk, I have often washed my hair the morning of hair appointment, sometimes even before the appt. Nothing bad has happened, the color has always been fine. If it bothers you so much, just wash your hair. If you wash in the morning, you will have hours before hair appt. I mean, is this a real rule? My hairdresser has never mentioned it. I thought it was more of an urban myth? |
Sometimes they do a cut first and will quick wash hair to wet it for the cut, then dry it, color and deep wash after. |

I always wash my hair before and have never had a problem.
I workout daily. I am not showing up with stinky, skank hair. |

Which dry shampoo are you using? I've found that the cheap stuff is worthless (Batiste, I'm looking at you).
Amika Perk Up dry shampoo is my fave & the one I swear by. I use it at least 3 days each week because I have dry hair that can only take washing every other day. |

I always shampoo & condition my hair prior to a coloring appt.
Just do not scrub your scalp too roughly when cleansing as this can cause the scalp to be extra sensitive during the coloring process. |
