I have noticed big ants with wings one in mud room ,one near sink and another crawling on wall ? Are they dangerous ?are they carpenter ants ? Did they just flew in? I left garage door open or I have infestation? |
Could be a termite. Google it |
Ants are swarming now- new queens starting new hills.

They are carpenter ants searching for a new nest site. Happened to me two years ago.

Termites was my first thought, too.

You need a pest guy. They eat wood. |
They are carpenter ants. They are everywhere and they probably just flew in the door. If you've only seen a couple of them, it's not a problem. They are not especially dangerous but they do bite/pinch and it does not feel good at all. They're not venomous so if you do get a bite, the welt will go away in a short time but it's still not fun.

carpenter ants are almost as bad as termites. they do eat wood. you need to call an exterminator |
Carpenter ants nest in wood, but they don't eat it. The difference is that, unlike termites who do eat wood, the ants cause less damage. They are mostly interested in wood that is soft and wet and already damaged. If you've only seen a couple of them, it's not a big deal. In this area, ants are everywhere. If you find a lot of them crawling around in your house, whether they have wings or not, then you need to call someone. |

Hopefully they are not nesting just flew in when I left the door open a little too long I guess. |

They were coming in from outside via a terrace. Two years of spraying later, I have not seen any ants this year. FWIW. |

Their nest was inside the frame of the house. |
